Modernization of such a country as Russia, combined with overcoming the consequences of global financial and economic crisis, presents a number of challenges in political, economic and social development. Modernization in Russia is different from modernization in developed countries. The problems of forming the social priorities, realization of the concept of social state, forming of a civil society, overcoming of negative consequences of globalization and increasing the quality of life must be solved. The transformation of modern Russia, is characterized not only by the emergence of market regulators of economic life, but also by the development of new social institutes. In these conditions the activities of Russian trade unions take on new forms, directions and meaning.
