The USSR NKVD-MVD Structural Development in 1945-1946

The article analyzes the major structural transformations of the National Committee of Internal Affairs (NKVD) – the USSR Ministry of Internal Affairs (MVD) in the early postwar period. The author considers the chronological changing of the office structure during the years 1945-1946, and makes conclusions on how they influenced the development of the domestic system of law enforcement offices.
