The Department of Land Resources
Research activity of the department of land resources is focused on assessment, protection and sustainable management of land and water resources. The main goals of the department are to develop the procedures of efficient and sustainable land use for food security, to implement the technologies of soil conservation in agriculture, to collect and analyze the data on up-to-date state of land and water resources, to assess the land degradation and water quality in the focus regions.

The head of the department of land resources is professor Pavel Krasilnikov. He graduated from Lomonosov Moscow State University, department of Soil Science, in 1992. He became a candidate of biological sciences in 1996 and a doctor of biological sciences in 2009. Worked in the Institute of Biology of the RAS Karelian Scientific Center: 1993-1996, as a junior researcher; 1996-1997, as a head of the scientific group; 1997-2001, as a senior researcher and a head of the scientific group; and 2001-2011, as a head of laboratory of ecology and soil geography. He is a member of the Central Council of Dokuchaev (Russian) Soil Science Society; a vice-chairman of Commission 1.4. Soil Classification of the International Union of Soil Science (2010-2014). He is a member of editorial boards in the Boletin de la Sociedad Geologica Mexicana (Mexico) and Geoderma (Elsevier) journals. He is a reviewer of the international journals: TERRA Laninoamericana, Investigaciones Geograficas and Boletin de la Sociedad Geologica Mexicana (Mexico), Ciencia del Suelo (Argentina), Catena, Geoderma, Geomorphology (Elsevier), Geographical Analysis (Dallas, USA), African Journal of Agricultural Research and Journal of Etnobiology and Ethnomedicine.б Pavel Krasilnikov is the author ofб more than 120 scientific publications. |
