All foreign nationals are required to have entry visas to travel to the Russian Federation. Russian entry visas can be obtained at local Russian Embassy or Consulate. To get the visa, proper authorization (invitation) from the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs or specially authorized travel agencies is required.

Russian visa can be obtained in two ways:

1. The Moscow State University will provide the ISNA-16 participants the visa support. To make this possible, we ask you to send us an email message before June 1, 2002 with the following information:

• Last name
• First name(s)
• Birthday: day/month/year
• Citizenship
• Passport number
• Passport expiration date
• Name of the institution you work in
• Your position in this institution
• Work address: postal code, country, city, street, building/room number
• Work telephone number
• Work fax number
• Day of entrance to Russia
• Day of leaving from Russia
• Cities of Russia you plan to visit
• Country and city of the Russian Consulate where you will apply for visa
• Fax number where to send the invitation
• In addition to the above information, you should attach to the same email message an electronic scan in JPEG-format of the principal pages of your passport (the pages with your photo, name, citizenship, date of the passport expiration, the passport number).

If you are travelling with your family members, please, send the same information about each of the accompanying persons.

In July we will fax you the invitation letter. Simultaneously, this invitation will be telexed directly to the Russian Consulate where you will apply for visa. It is supposed that you contact the Russian Consulate 3 weeks before the trip.

2. If you decide to arrange your trip to Russia through a local travel agency, the agency can provide you the visa support. That will be a tourist visa, not directly related to the ISNA-16. In this case you enter Russia as a tourist and participation in the conference ISNA-16 is not the purpose of your trip. Of course, there will be no problem to attend the Symposium meetings in addition to your tourist program. It is maybe the fastest way to get the visa, but then you cannot stay in Moscow State University Main Building hotel/dormitory.
