HP Grants for Participants from Russia and other FSU Republics

The Hewlett-Packard Company has established a program of support of scientists from Russian Federation and other FSU Republics for participation in the ACAT'2002 Workshop.

In total, 100 grants for participants have been awarded in the framework of the Hewlett-Packard Company program. These grants will make possible the participation in the meeting of scientists from universities, research institutes and centers of more than 25 cities from Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Russia and Ukraine.

Such a support is especially important for young investigators just starting research in the field of computer techniques and applications. From the other side, their participation in the meeting will be of great importance for the real success of the workshop because ideas and initiatives to be discussed there are assumed to be realized and further developed in the future by this new generation of scientists. In the framework of the HP-program, 21 students have got the financial support.

A successful meeting on computer technologies is impossible without demonstrations of really working computer systems and programs. To put this into practice for our workshop, the Hewlett-Packard Company has kindly agreed, in addition to the support of participants, to grant for the period of the meeting several PCs.
