Dear colleagues!

The 2006 comes to the end. For rectors corps as well as for the educational
society of Russia this year was marked with fruitful work and significant
results in educational, scientific-research and innovation activities,
proactive social discussion about means of the education system development
and as a result adopted state solutions.

Nowadays it becomes evidently that corporate concern of the Russian higher
professional education system to the utmost coincides with state concern,
and mobilization of its intellectual resources, highly developed
communication infrastructure and information technologies directed to the
raising of perspective sectors, all these factors, indisputably, become
decisive element for forming innovation oriented economy, competitiveness
increasing of our state within the system of the international division of
labour.

That is why our society opposed to some radical projects of educational
system reforming which were proceeded from the current needs of the market.
Certainly, market is a reality in which we live and work, however it cannot
appears as the only one horizon of development of Russian education and
science, society on the whole.

Prospect of higher education system development is an integral part of
resolving objectives directed to increasing of its adaptability degree to
the requirements of the qualitatively new economy which is based on
knowledge, directed to the improvement of professional training level of
every graduate in every higher education institute irrespective of its
institutional organization, directed to the more wide application of
innovation technologies, priority development of the higher education
science.

We are looking to the future, the essence of education obliges us to do it.
We will concur still more actively and more serried, the today's realities
oblige us to do it.

Dear friends, let me wish you that every of your undertaking and plans will
be practically realized next year. And let the all-triumphant spirit of
creation and optimism always accompany you!
