The faculty permanently extends the contacts with many overseas universities. The graduator of 1991 Artem R. Oganov who completed his PhD degree in University of London and now works as a leader of the group in ETH (Zurich) was recently nominated by the Faculty Scientific Council as an adjunct Professor.

- High-pressure mineral physics and crystallography.
- Earth’s and planetary interiors.
- Development and application of ab initio simulation methods: crystal structure prediction, thermodynamics and phase diagrams, rheological properties, solid solutions and chemical bonding under high pressure.

- 109 publications (42 papers and book chapters, 65 abstracts, and 2 scientific highlights), including top-impact journals (Nature, PNAS, PRL, PRB, J. Chem. Phys., etc.). 10 keynote/plenary, 48 invited, 12 contributed talks.
