Electronic Properties of Semiconductors Nanostructures under High Magnetic Field

Applications are invited for a PhD student position in Grenoble, to take responsibility of act as a local contact for helping external users to perform transport experiments of semiconductors physics requiring access to one of the large installations for high magnetic fields managed by EuroMagNET.

These experiments will be performed by Guests European scientists and with local contact help , on electronic and transport properties investigations, in a double and triple quantum well at high Landau filling factors , in a two-dimensional electron-hole system in HgTe quantum wells ( under hydrostatic pressure:as graphene layer ), in tunnel spectroscopy of the intersubband excitations in a 2DEG , in electrically detected spin resonance in silicon MOSFET's and others , :

Our research group develop transport expertise on nanostructures and the corresponding instrumentation for these experiments , such low temperatures cryostats : Dilution Fridge and He 3 (with top loading combined with transport and optical pressure cell ,optical fiber visible and microwave radiation up to 100 GHz ), VTI with similar facilities .

Requirements :

Master degree in Solid State Physics, knowledge in semiconductors physics and in low temperature measurements of electronic properties.

Period :

Earliest starting date September 1 , 2009 for 3 years.
