Educational council on Geography contains 51 universities, that prepare bachelors, specialists and masters on “Geography”, “Hydrometeorology” and “Geography and cartography”. The member of the Russian Academy of Sciences Nikolay S. Kasimov is the header of the council. Emma P. Romanova is the deputy of the chairman. The council worked out educational state standards on following specialties: Geography, Meteorology, Hydrology, Oceanology and Cartography.
Educational council on Ecology and Sustainable Development was founded in 1993. The main purpose of this council is development of the new branch of university education – ecology and nature management. Council comprises scientists of different departments such as geography, biology, geology, economics, chemistry. member of the Russian Academy of Sciences Nikolay S. Kasimov is the header of the council. During fifteen years the branch was instituted in 140 universities and institutes of Russia. There are now 7500 specialists in ecology annually.
