Electron impact ionization of overheated vapour in the system Zr-ZrBr4

Abstract

Ionization Processes of overheated vapour in the system Zr-ZrBr4 have been studied by electron impact. The mass-spectrum of the ZrBr4 molecule has been observed. Molecules ZrBr3 were observed in overheated vapour. Ionization potentials of ZrBr4 and ZrBr3 has been measured : IP(ZrBr4) = 10,96±0,11 eV;IP(ZrBr3) = 8,3±0,2 eV. Upper limits to the ionization potentials of ZrBr2 and ZrBr have been estimated to be: IP(ZrBr2) £ 10 eV; IP(ZrBr) £ 9,2 eV.
