THE COMPETENCES OF ENGINEER ING PROGRAMS GRADUATES: NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL STANDARDS The issues of modernization of criteria used by Association of Engineering Education of Russia i n public accreditation HEI's engi neeri ng education programs ar e analyzed in the paper. On the basis of the competence appro ach the AEER cr iteria are compared with the criteria of international standards for engineering education (IEA Graduate Attributes and Professional Competences EUR ACE Framework Standards for Accreditation of Engineering Education) designed and implemented by the world leading experts Washington Accord and European Network for Accreditation of Engineering Education. It is shown in what way the international recognition of the AEER accredited engineering education programs in Russian HEI will be provided in conditions of the global transfer to the level system of higher education and introduction of the Federal education standards of the third generation. KOVTUN E. THE RESULTS OF THE EX PERT REV IEW OF THE FSES BASED EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS The article puts forth the most significant results of the expert review of the federal state educational standards based undergraduate educational programs developed by the classical universities of Russia in 2010­2011 and the expert's suggestions addressed to the HEIs, FSES authors and to the federal governmental bodies for improving institutional and methodological foundations of undergraduate educational programs.
