INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE

HYDRODYNAMIC INSTABILITY

AND TURBULENCE

February 26 - March 05, Moscow, Russia

ORGANIZED by Moscow State University, Institute of Mechanics of MSU
and Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics. CHAIRMAN Academician
G.G.Chernyi. SPONSORED by Russian Foundation for Basic Research,
Moscow State University, Institute of Mechanics of MSU.

OBJECTIVE

The aim of the Conference is to assemble active researchers in nonlinear
hydrodynamics and students, and to serve as a forum where most recent
developments can be discussed. It follows the tradition of biannual
conferences organized by the Institute of Mechanics of Moscow State
University between 1976 and 2004 (see http://hit2003.narod.ru/), which were
widely attended by scientists and students from the former Soviet Union.

SCOPE

- Mathematical problems of hydrodynamic instability;
- Transition processes;
- Chaos and turbulence;
- Computational fluid dynamics;
- Applications to microgravity, geo- and astrophysics, ecology, etc.
In addition, in the framework of the Conference the Materials &
Microgravity Sciences Workshop (MMSW) will be held for 2-3 days. A special
workshop for students is also planned.

PROCEEDINGS

Abstracts of talks and posters will be published by Moscow University Press
in "Proceedings of the International Conference in Hydrodynamic Instability
and Turbulence". Prospective participants must send abstracts in Word to
the Organizing Committee (gertsens@imec.msu.ru) not later than 15 January
2006.

LANGUAGE

Official languages of the Conference are Russian and English.

LOCATION

The Conference will be held in a holiday hotel in the picturesque Moscow
suburb. The average temperature in February in Moscow is about -8 grad C.

CONFERENCE FEE

Registration and accommodation fees (transfer from/to airport and meals
included) is approximately 750 Euro (450 Euro for students). It is planned
to organize visits to Moscow University, Moscow museums and theaters.
