Postgraduate studies at the Department of Geometry and Topology, Moscow State University
University graduates with Master degree in mathematics or physics (or equivalent)
are very welcome to apply for a 3-year postgraduate study to attain a Kandidat nauk degree at our Department.
Kandidat nauk (Russian for "candidate of science") is a degree equivalent to Western PhD in mathematics,
but with slightly higher requirements for the PhD thesis (the scientific results are usually required to
be published in peer reviewed journals before, not after, submitting a thesis).
For more information about perspective study programmes
please find and contact the potential advisor among our staff members
(usually this should be a person whose scientific interests match your own), or department's scientific
secretary Dr. Taras Panov.

"People" and
"Research" sections.
Details about our current postgraduate students can be found on the
Russian page.
