Scientific work of the Faculty of Global Studies in 2013

The strategic goal of the research activities of the Faculty of Global Studies is the formation of a new scientific school of Moscow State University on the interdisciplinary study of global issues, processes and systems and the development of a new integrative research direction – globalistics. The objective is development of the internationally recognized scientific school of Moscow State University in the field of global researches, uniting professors and teachers and students of the Faculty, which has partnership with a leading research and educational centers in Russia and foreign countries. Scientific work of the Faculty of Global Studies in 2013: results. In 2013 2017, 31 main events in scientific research were scheduled. In 2013, the most active work was holding at 13 of them. We present some of the most significant events at the Faculty of Global Studies, conducted in 2013. Faculty held in 2013: a meeting of the International Consortium for Global Studies; International Scientific Congress “Globalistics 2013″, dedicated to the 150th anniversary of Vernadsky; Faculty section at the Lomonosov readings and a section of “globalistics and geopolitics” on International Youth Conference “Lomonosov-2013″; participated in the organization of the IV World Congress of Global Civilization. Number of foreign participants attended the events at the Faculty was 247 people. Conducting about thirty international congresses, conferences and scientific schools with participation of leading Russian and foreign scientists at the Faculty is one of the highest priority directions of implementation of research work and, at the same time, the result of its scientific activity. Among them are International Scientific Congress “Global Studies 2013″, dedicated to the 150th anniversary of Vernadsky, and “Global Studies 2017″, dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Prigojin and Moiseyev. In December 2013 an agreement for the implementation of applied scientific work was signed and executed to the order of Ltd “KinoEkspertiza”. The theme of this work was “Development of the Russian theatrical sphere in the context of globalization and technological progress”. It was decided to establish at the Faculty of global processes of the International Research and Education Center named after A. Zinoviev (order at MSU from 30.01.2014 44) according to the decision of the Academic Council of the Moscow State University from October 21, 2013 (Protocol 5). One of most important directions is the implementation of interdisciplinary research projects within the priority areas of the Program of development of MSU, development of interfaculty and interdisciplinary problem-oriented global research with other departments of the Moscow University. In 2012 Encyclopedic Handbook “Global Studies. People, organizations and works ” was released, that was a result of the implementation of the project “Who is Who and What is What in global studies”. In addition to the encyclopedia, a project to create a database “Electronic atlas of globalization” and test methods for its use in research is developing. Innovation research is achieved through the regular organization of different events via teleconference with the help of Base interactive education center. Among them are the organizing committees of international conferences, round tables, hearing reports of students and staff, who pass training abroad, protection of final qualifying works. This allows expanding the structure of audiences with experts, including people from other countries. The results of scientific work of the faculty and, at the same time, the basis for its implementation are publications of foreign scientists in the editions of Faculty of Global Studies. The number of publications of foreign participants in scientific events of the Congress “Global Studies 2013″ in 2013, conducted by the faculty – 83 publications. 8 foreign scientists published their articles in Scientific Journal Moscow University Globalistics and Geopolitics Bulletin. For the international recognition of the results of research activities the development of the activity of the International Association for Global Studies, supporting website www.globalistics.org, forming on this basis discussion forums, networks and communities of researchers and practitioners, advanced scientific and educational centers in the field of Global Studies is going. Another important result of the work was the creation of an international scientific expert association “Moscow club” as an international discussion platform for discussion of complex problems of global development, problems of globalization and global challenges. FGS is a co-organizer of the IV World Congress of Global Civilization. It was created Discussion student club, held 6 of its meetings, including meeting that was part of the Festival of Science at FGS MSU. On the initiative of FGS at the Congress on “Global Studies 2013″ was decided to create the International Academy of Global Studies.
