Equinix Opens Second Data Center in Singapore

With the Phase 2 expansion, which is currently in the design phase, the SG2 center will have a total capacity of 1,700 cabinets and 110,000 square feet at full build out.

The data center is designed to meet the significant growth in Singapore, generated by demand from the company existing customer base of carriers, content providers and enterprises, as well as increasing interest from companies throughout South Asia and financial trading companies.

The new SG2 center will provide colocation space and continue the strong growth of the company peering business, as the facility will be located near one of the key submarine cable landing stations in Singapore.
