The article is devoted to the analysis of the general positioning trends, historical peculiarities and core evolution aspects of the attitude of the Russian state and its official ideology towards Russian Orthodox Old Belief communities and their faith and views during the second half of the XIX century in the context of the overall conservative trend prevailing in the country.
