The MDB50X is a new XG format daughter card that will fit right into the Wave Blaster expansion connector of the Tahiti, SoundBlaster 16 (not the SB 16 Value), AWE-32 , or any sound card with a Wave Blaster compatible connector.

The MDB50X features top quality Wave Table tone generation to enhance sound with four megabytes of ROM wave memory. In combination with your present FM sound card, the MDB50X greatly increases musical power and functions while maintaining full compatibility with your past and present software. In addition, extensive DSP effect functions are includes to give you complete control of your computer sound output. 32-note polyphony enables your system to produce all types of music production, sound effects and quality background music. If you want hundreds of professional quality sounds, the MDB50X sound card is the ultimate solution.

Superlative Sound and Effects

Yamaha's MDB50X daughter card features over 400 high quality voices and 22 drum kits for extensive variety and options. Sophisticated effects included 12 reverb settings, 8 chorus settings, distortion, rotary speaker, various delay options, echo, flanger and much more. There are 3 effect sends available and the third effect block can be applied with either insertion or system effect. Insertion functions are ideal for instrument specific effects such as distortion for electric guitars.

Expansive XG Format

Yamaha's XG format offers a tremendous musical expansion and is upwardly compatible with General MIDI. XG provides a much greater number of standard voices, more voice control operations, three effect sends and much more. Many music application developers support the XG format which allows you to use almost any application to the fullest possible extent. A growing XG MIDI song library allows you to enjoy the depth and quality of the music programs based on XG format.
