3. RBSC-NVSS SAMPLE. I. RADIO AND OPTICAL IDENTIFICATIONS
... astro-ph/0003002 We cross-identified the ROSAT Bright Source Catalog (RBSC) and the NRAO VLA Sky Survey (NVSS) to construct the RBSC-NVSS sample of the brightest X-ray sources (~0.1 counts s^{-1} ~= 10^{-12} ergs cm^-2s^-1 in the 0.1--2.4 keV band) that are also radio sources (S ~= 2.5 mJy at 1.4 GHz) in the 7.8 sr of extragalactic sky with |b| > 15deg and DEC > -40deg. ... We used the more accurate radio positions to make reliable X-ray/radio/optical identifications down to the POSS plate limits. ...

4. Modern CCD Observations of Moving Celestial Objects: Algorithms and Software
... Up: Data Analysis and Processing Techniques . ... Also, a method for quality control of CCD observations is suggested. ... Everyone who observes a celestial object using a CCD detects moving celestial objects as a ``by product''. ... We hope that our investigations may be useful for near-Earth space control and also for searches of the moving celestial objects through analysis of old and new CCD frames obtained at any amateur or professional astronomical observatory. ...

6. Search for distant radio galaxies in SAO
... The search for distant objects which can be both galaxies and quasars is one of the most important problems of observational astrphysics, because it allows one to determine cosmological parameters connected with the time of appearence and evolution of stellar systems, large scale structure of the Universe. ... Radio galaxies are important objects to be studied because they are sources of infrared-optical-ultraviolet continuum, emission lines and continual radio emission. ...

8. Very Low Mass PMS Objects
... Since the reddening found for the stars in Table 13 was small, no reddening correction was attempted. ... These diamonds indicate the positions of very low mass, 3 Myr old, objects from the work of Burrows et al. ... This optical V versus R - I scheme is a very powerful method of detecting very low mass (VLM) objects. ... Because of this, young brown dwarfs are intrinsically no more difficult to observe in the optical than low mass stars at the age of Orionis. ...

9. Observing Faint Targets Near Bright Objects
... The concerns here are similar to those for observing bright targets; saturation and blooming of the bright companion PSF must not impact the faint target. Also, one may need to consider subtracting the PSF of the bright object, and effects which limit the accuracy of that subtraction. If the bright companion will saturate and bloom, it will be necessary to rotate the CCD so that blooming along the CCD columns does not obliterate the faint target. ...

Seven 2BL objects with a radio detection are confirmed as candidate BL Lac objects while one extragalactic (z=0.494) continuum object is undetected at radio frequencies.
