... The ancient chronical said about the colour rings around the Sun and the Moon, about three suns in the sky, light columns, bright lightning, different "comets" rushing to the Earth, moving among the stars or round the Earth with the sky. All these occurrences may be divided into three categories: one that occur in the near or far space, processes going on in the Earth atmosphere under the influence of cosmic factors and at last the occurrences connected with the Earth atmosphere. ... Comment on J0513-2159 . Our image shows an extension to about 5 mas SE from the brightest feature. The EVN 8 GHz image by Dallacasa et al. (1998), with about five times larger resolution, shows an extension from the brightest feature roughly opposite to our direction. As noted by Dallacasa et al. (1998), the structure detected has a highly inverted spectrum, which, together with the reported variability in the source, could explain the structural disagreement. ...
... Email: chaos@mail.cplire.ru Abstract - In this report, we investigate phenomena on the edge of spatially uniform chaotic mode and spatial temporal chaos in a lattice of chaotic 1-D maps with only local connections. ... PACEMAKER-CONTROLLED MODEL As we have already found, global synchronization is impossible in large lattices of locally coupled chaotic elements (maps). ... This synchronous mode is also chaotic (= 0.52В0.69) and stable, it attracts the lattice maps from any initial conditions. ...

In 1848 the Swiss astronomer Johann Rudolph Wolf introduced a daily measure- ment of sunspot number. His method, which is still used today, counts the total number of spots visible on the face of the sun and the number of groups into which they cluster, because neither quantity alone satisfactorily meas- ures sunspot activity. An observer computes a daily sunspot number by multiplying the number of groups he sees by ten and then adding this product to his total count of in- dividual spots. ...
