... We have presented the chirplet transform, which may be viewed as a generalization of both the short-time Fourier transform (STFT) and the wavelet transform (WT). ... The Gaussian chirplet transform (GCT) results in a complex function of four variables: time, frequency, scale, and ``chirprate''. ... The full continuous chirplet transform (CCT) that can be obtained using only a single mother chirplet results in a complex function of five variables: time, frequency, scale, chirprate, and dispersionrate...

RELATIVE SUNSPOT NUMBERS Description of Data from SGD Explanation of Data Reports: Relative Sunspot Numbers -- The relative sunspot number is an index of the activity of the entire visible disk of the Sun. ... The provisional daily Zurich relative sunspot numbers, Rz, were based upon observations made at Zurich and its two branch stations in Arosa and Locarno and communicated by M. Waldmeier of the Swiss Federal Observatory. ... This indicates the uncertainty above and below the predicted number. ...
... The main field of my investigations is stellar spectrophotometry. As a result of scientific activity of our group spectrophotometric catalog was created including energy distribution data on 900 stars in the range 3200-7600AA and 250 stars in the range 6000-10800AA (Voloshina et al., Spectrophotometry of Bright Stars, ed. I.N.Glushneva, 1982, Moscow, Nauka, in Russian). ...

We present a catalogue of galaxies for which spatially resolved data on their internal kinematics have been published; there is no apriori restriction regarding their morphological type. The catalogue lists the references to the articles where the data are published, as well as a coded description of these data: observed emission (E) or absorption (A) data, optical (O) or radio (R) data, velocity (V) or velocity dispersion (D), radial profile (1) or 2D field (2). ...
... Cohomological Hall algebras. First result [E1] is the proof of homotopy finiteness of derived categories of coherent sheaves (conjectured by Kontsevich) and coherent matrix factorizations. Namely, a Z -graded DG algebra A over a field k is called homotopically finitely presented if it is a homotopy retract of a finite cellular DG algebra B . ... ... GCR and SCR are primary cosmic rays. 10-15 years after the discovery of cosmic radiation (1919) there emerged two main avenues of investigation in the physics of cosmic rays (CR): 1) nuclear - elucidation of the origin of elementary particles and nuclear interactions; and 2) astrophysical (space physics) - solution of the problem related to the origin and variations (changes in intensity) of CR. ... Besides, the CR flux in interplanetary space is, strictly speaking, not isotropic. ...
Geometry of X-ray sources in accreting black-hole binaries Andrzej A. Zdziarski N. Copernicus Astronomical Center, Warsaw The structure of the X-ray sources in the hard spectral state of accreting black-hole binaries has been a subject of intense debate. The paradigm dominant for many years postulated that the accretion disc in the hard state is truncated at some radius >> the innermost stable orbit (ISCO) whereas the disc reaches the ISCO in the soft state. ...

Halo around the Moon. Halo arises when the light beams refracted on the high clouds icy chips ina form of a six side prism. As a result we see a small halo circle with a 22°-radius. The big circle is formed by the beams paased through the side edge and the base of prismochips. Its radius is equal to 46° (nearly). The big circle is observed rarely and is shining weaker but it is easier to observe it near the Sun, if comparing with the small halo invisible in the bright Sun light. ...
