... Making a Case for METI . ... Many leaders of the modern SETI community oppose the deliberate transmission of messages from Earth to the stars in attempts to communicate with extraterrestrial intelligence (ETI). ... Like Arecibo, our transmissions include scientific information. ... METI is not scientific . ... So, to increase the likelihood of effective communication across interstellar space, we include in our METI transmissions non-scientific messages: text, audio, video, art, music, etc. ...

Halo around the Moon. Halo arises when the light beams refracted on the high clouds icy chips ina form of a six side prism. As a result we see a small halo circle with a 22°-radius. The big circle is formed by the beams paased through the side edge and the base of prismochips. Its radius is equal to 46° (nearly). The big circle is observed rarely and is shining weaker but it is easier to observe it near the Sun, if comparing with the small halo invisible in the bright Sun light. ...

We present a catalogue of galaxies for which spatially resolved data on their internal kinematics have been published; there is no apriori restriction regarding their morphological type. The catalogue lists the references to the articles where the data are published, as well as a coded description of these data: observed emission (E) or absorption (A) data, optical (O) or radio (R) data, velocity (V) or velocity dispersion (D), radial profile (1) or 2D field (2). ...
