Note on Filters:
Sextans A is a low mass dwarf companion to the Milky Way Galaxy. It is sufficiently close that it is easily resolved into its individual stars. The goal of this observation is to detect hot stars in this galaxy. An exposure of 1100 seconds through the A1 and B1 filters was obtained.
NGC 2903 Is a relatively nearby mostly face-on galaxy with active star formation. It is weakly barred with some nuclear star formation as well. A total of 860 seconds were obtained through the A1 and B1 filters.
NGC 4449 Is a delightful galaxy at all wavelengths. It is very similar in its global properties to the Large Magellanic Cloud . A wealth of data already exists on this object to compare with its UV morphology. There is a large amount of star formation occurring in the central regions of NGC 4449 as well as sporadic regions elsewhere. There are several prominent "bubble" regions in NGC 4449 indicative of gas which has been swept up and locally expelled through supernova heating and winds. A total of 2100 seconds of exposure time through the A1, B1 and B5 filters was obtained.
NGC 2841 is a nearby galaxy which is very similar to Andromeda in its overall characteristics. Its present day rate of star formation is very low and quite sporadic. It should not have much UV emission although, the hope is that is two arm spiral structure will be prominent in the UV as it is in the case of M81 . A 1027 second exposure through the B1 filter was successfully obtained.
