LONG SCIENTIFIC VISITS AND INTERNATIONAL COLLABORATION

Since 1998 I participate in collaboration with several
Italian scientific groups (prof. Aldo Treves, University of Como;
prof. Monica Colpi, University of Milan-Bicocca;
dr. Roberto Turolla, University of Padua).
During that period I had four long (and several short) visits.

1.) April-June 2002 (3 months). Universities of Como and Milan.
2.) October 2001 (1 month). University of Como.
3.) March-July 2000 (3 months). Universities of Como and Milan.
4.) January 1999 (1 month). Universities of Como and Milan.

We worked on four projects (population synthesis of isolated neutron
stars, log N - log S distribution of isolated neutron stars,
ultra-strong elelctric fields and vacuum breakdown,
close-by young compact objects). Results were published in
10 articles (including conference proceedings and accepted papers).

RESEARCH EXPERIENCE

I) Isolated Neutron Stars (Period Evolution, Magnetic Field Decay,
Accretion onto Isolated Neutron Stars).

1.) Accretion from the interstellar medium onto isolated neutron star.
2.) Magnetorotational evolution of isolated neutron stars.
3.) Evolution of isolated neutron stars with the magnetic field decay.
4.) Spatial distribution of luminosity of accreting isolated
neutron stars and balck holes in the Galaxy.
5.) Population synthesis of isolated neutron stars in the Galaxy

II) Binary Stars (Evolution of Close Binaries, Periods of Accreting
Neutron Stars).
1.) Determination of stellar wind velocities in X-ray pulsars.
2.) Investigation of the population of X-ray sources at the Galactic
center: population synthesis of binary systems
and spatial distribution of X-ray sources.
3.) Evolution of population of X-ray sources after the star formation
burst: influence of the Initial Mass Function.
4.) Esimates of magnetic fields of X-ray pulsars from their spin
characteristics and flux variations.
5.) Magneto-rotational evolution of neutron stars in pre-low mass
X-ray binaries

III) Others

1.) Isolated black holes. Accretion. Evolution.

All projects were supported by the grants from Russian Foundation
for Basic Research, National Programms ``Astronomy'' and
``Universities of Russia'', ISSEP, International Science Foundation,
COSMION and INTAS.

TEACHING EXPERIENCE

1). Invited lectures at international schools
(July 2004 Erice, Italy; August 2004 Dubna, Russia)
2.) Occasional lectures and seminars in Theoretical and General
Astrophysics.
