SAS task info file
For each task that you care about, you should create an info file. Add
it to the variable CONFIGFILES in the make file. The natual
place for the info files is the config directory.
For instance:
CONFIGFILES = odffix.info
The info file can contain the following entries:
DESCRIPTION=Generates better ODF summary files than the real thing
VISIBLE=yes
GROUPS=utility odf
Where:
- DESCRIPTION: the one-liner for the gui. At a later stage
we may use this for task --help as well. Write it all on one
line.
- VISIBLE: say yes (the default) if the task should be visible through
the gui. There are some auxiliary tasks that may not mean much from
the gui (odffix uses a few): set this to "no" to reduce the gui
clutter.
- GROUPS: any number of applicable key words, to be chosen
from the list below. The first key word in the list will be used in
the gui to classify the task. The index to the structured
documentation will contain as many sections as there are available key
words. In general, if you have a suite of related tasks you can invent
a suitable key word and write it in every task info file, and
magically the tasks will be grouped together.
Note 1: if a task does not have an info file, it will not be
picked up in the gui. For this reason the info file is mandatory.
List of group names
- mos pn rgs om: instrument specific task
- epic: applies to both mos and pn
- pipeline: task that runs in the pipeline
- pps: task that runs in LUX PPS system
- utility: utility task. This is a small task that does some small practical thing. A task that is useful is not necessarily a utility.
- calibration: calibration related. These are tasks that are used to generate calibration files, or extract calibration data. Tasks that perform calibration activities (all the pipeline tasks) are not calibration tasks.
- filter: task to perform data filtering and selection (gti stuff, evselect)
- spatial: task that performs spatial analysis
- spectral: as above but spectral
- timing: as above but timing
- experimental: not yet approved. If this entry is present it must be the first one.
- infrastructure: related to the SAS infrastructure.
- plot: plot and display.
- gti: GTI related.
