2003-02-28; Old response files (*.rsp) SHOULD NOT be used
The PN response (*.rsp) files have been withdrawn from the XMM-Newton website time ago. The advice to users who want to avoid the generation of redistribution matrix files is to use the standard RMF files (*.rmf) in conjunction with the ARF file obtained by running arfgen.In one of the withdrawn rsp files (PN small window medium filter single+doubles) there is a deep, narrow feature at ~ 7.2 keV.
People still using this file, which was available only for a short time on our web, are WARNED.
