S.P.H.
My Ph.D. work was focused mainly on the development of boundary conditions for Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics simulations of binary stars. Here's a brief description of the tools I have used:
Modeling of Compressible Fluids
My code, which is a legacy of my supervisor at the time, is based on that of Benz (1990), Benz et al.(1991) and, more recently, Bate et al. (1995).
Boundary Conditions Treatment
I developed and tested an innovative way of modeling only the outer parts of stars, therefore allowing for an increased particle and mass resolution in the mass transfer itself. This work was published in Lajoie & Sills 2010a (The Astrophysical Journal 726, 66).
