Welcome to my home page!

I am an Astronomer at the Space Telescope Science Institute. Recently, my research has been mainly focused on a large HST program called SWEEPS (Sagittarius Window Eclipsing Extrasolar Planet Search). This program involves monitoring of about 300,000 stars towards the Galactic bulge using the Advanced Camera System (ACS) on board HST, to search for transiting extra-solar planets. This led to the discovery of 16 planet candidates, including 5 ultra-short-period planets. These results are published in the October 5, 2006 issue of Nature (also available through astro-ph) . The NASA Science Update, held on 4 October 2006, gives some details on these results.
