Assistant Astronomer Space Telescope Science Institute JWST Instruments Group: MRS IFU Development Lead SDSS-IV/MaNGA Lead Data Scientist I am a member of the MIRI team at STScI, working on the mid-infrared MRS integral field spectrograph. My research explores the structure, internal kinematics, and evolution of galaxies over cosmic time. Some particular active projects (described further here) include: MaNGA: a fiber-bundle IFU survey of 10,000 low-redshift galaxies in the 4th generation Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS-IV) Morphology and kinematics of star-forming galaxies in the young universe Development of tools and algorithms for integral-field unit (IFU) spectroscopy Numerical simulations of the Local Group and galactic stellar tidal streams Time series photometry of RR Lyrae to obtain accurate distances to substructures in the Galactic stellar halo
