    • File Formats- .PSD, .TIFF, .JPG, .GIF, .PNG, .BMP
    • Resolution- the amount of data (or pixels) stored in the file, screen, or printed image.
      • Terminology used to describe resolution is DPI and PPI
        • DPI: Dots per inch
        • PPI: Pixels per inch
      • Both mean the same thing. DPI is used for printing PPI is used for screen.
      • The more DPI / PPI the greater the resolution and file will be.
      • Once you change the property to LOW resolution there is no going back (unless you undo). You cannot make a low res graphic high res, SO always, always, always, always, always, always, always, create your file at 150 - 300 ppi
      • Most commonly used resolution sizes: 72 ppi: Screen Based Imagery, 150 ppi: Average Quality Printed Output (small home photos, simple flier, etc.), 300 ppi: High Quality Print Output (posters, brochures, folders, covers, etc.)
