Bio
Andrew Fox is an astronomer at the Space Telescope Science Institute (STScI) in Baltimore, Maryland, the scientific home of the Hubble Space Telescope and the James Webb Space Telescope. His research focuses on diffuse gas in and around galaxies (particularly the Milky Way), and the role it plays in powering star formation and driving galaxy evolution. His work uses ultraviolet, optical, and radio spectroscopy to determine the physical and chemical properties of the gas in galaxy halos. At STScI, he is a member of the COS Instrument Team and the Science Mission Office. Before joining STScI, he worked at the Institute of Astronomy (IoA) in Cambridge, UK, the European Southern Observatory (ESO) in Chile, the Institut d'Astrophysique de Paris (IAP), the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and University College London (UCL).
