Research interests mostly related to galaxy formation and evolution, by means of detailed observations on lowish-redshift galaxies:
- The interplay between the different components of the ISM in early-type galaxies
- Globular cluster systems across the Hubble sequence (photometry and spectroscopy)
- The formation of bulges of spiral galaxies: stellar population gradients
- Central dark masses in early-type galaxies and their relation to radio properties
