Most determinations of nebular abundances are based upon models which have an arbitrary density distribution. Jim Kingdon and I have been using the CLOUDY ionization code to look for line diagnostics which will signal the presence of condensations, even when they are not spatially resolved by imaging. We have found several line intensity ratios which may be good indicators of the extent of condensations in nebulae, and we hope to identify other line ratios that can be used for reliable abundance determinations when strong inhomogeneities are present.
