David Soderblom

I study stars like the Sun and the evolution of their spectroscopic properties with time. This includes studying the loss of angular momentum from pre-main sequence stages through the main sequence lifetime, and the decline of the surface lithium abundance with time, indicative of convection-related processes. Current programs involve studies of solar-type stars in young clusters, and the characterization of large numbers of solar-type stars as targets for other astrophysical work.
