STATUS REPORTS 1. Observatory Status MOSES status reports: -PCS - nominal - The thrid guide star acq later today will be a 170-deg. slew and will be a good test of the new reaction wheel. -EPS - nominal - ESTR2 remains powered off because of the previously reported high temperatures. Will be used in SMS 055 for LOS enginerring data recording only. -DMS - nominal. Testing continues with PASSOPS seeing no unexpected drop-outs. The SSR will be used for continuous engineering data recording in SMS053 (currently executing). SSR science/engineering partioning is underway. -Thermal - all temperatures within limits. Comp[ared to last year at this time, Bay 10 is showing no more than a 2 - 3 degree increase and Bays 7 & 8 are showing some increases, but these are all thought to be understood and typical for current configuration. Light Shield temperature shows no obvious change and the aft shroud temps, being power dependent, are more difficult to assess in the short term. The schedule for days 59, 68, and 73 present a variety of off- nominal rolls and sun angles for further thermal assessment. FSW - Tht NSSC1 5-SI load went nominal, except for the scheduled STIS patch which failed checksum. Comparisons with the KSC STIS image were made, with no differeces resulting. Comparison with BRZ showed many differences because of BRZ retains remnants of old pattern tests in unused areas. Patch was changed to reflect correct memory image. Meetings later in the morning on how to proceed with patch. 2. WFPC2 Status - nominal 3. NICMOS Status - nominal, in HOLD moded - HST written overnight to document the unexpected turn-on of dewar heaters in going from safe mode to boot mode after the NSSC1 installation. Not a problem when going directly to hold mode. 4. STIS Status - Nominal in HOLD mode -Low-level bus noise has decreased drammatically since reconfiguration to a differnet PDU from the one serving the FOC. CCD temperature all look good. TEC is at a setting of -76 C and temperature is nominal and stable. 5. FGS status - nominal - no change from last report 6. FOC/COSTAR status - nominal PLANNING REPORTS 1. Status of Upcoming SMSs - SMS053 (1st SMOV Science SMS) - Uplinked and executing. The goal is to run all of the SMSs through SMS069 by Sunday for input to commanding review in order to get a jump on TDRS requests in forecast period. - SMS055 - finals hve been delivered and SMS has been signed off. Ready for uplink. - SMS058 - Has beem built and finals have been delivered for review. - SMS058H - (contingency SMS058 in case WFPC2 contamination is seen in SMS055) - has been built, finals to be delivered later evening. - SMS062 - built and SARs being negotiated. - SMS065 - built and SARs being negotiated. - SMS069 - currently being built - SMS072 - currently being built 2.
