COS SMOV Morning Update 25 June 2009

A genda
· FUV HV Turn-on Visits R1 and R2 (repeats 11 and 12 of 13) · Upcoming COS SMOV Timeline

COS FUV HV Turn-on:
Visits R1 and R2 (repeat 11 and 12 of 13) slow HVLOW to HVNOM ramp
· On Wed 24 June:
 HV successfully taken in slow ramp from HVLOW (-4069 v) to nominal HVNOM level (A/B HVNOM command levels = 178/175) Data collected after reaching HVNOM (Visit R1) and again after 8 hours at HVNOM (Visit R2) were completely nominal; a DCE memory dump was performed, and dark and wavecal exposures were taken in each case. All diagnostics remain nominal on both segments (see table on slide following) No indication of any HV current transient behavior in the HVI histograms Background rates and wavecal rates were consistent with previous visits Background and wavecal PHDs from these visits are indistinguishable from those of visits 11 and 12 Wavecals obtained in visits R1 and R2 are indistinguishable from each other

· Summary: all normal and similar to previous data;

Backgrounds and lamp rates (both SMOV and TV06) exclude the warm strip at the bottom of the B segment (the warm strip adds about 7 cps to the global background rate, but is well out of the spectral area). PHDs are given as weighted mean value rather than simply the peak bin. FWHM column is wavecal PHD FWHM (%).
