Subject: SCI: Post CU/SDF Lock-Up Payload Recovery Complete

The real-time recovery of the Payload following the CU/SDF Lock-up event of
2011/270 has been successfully completed.

Since ACS was in its Anneal mode at the time of the lock-up, it was commanded to
Safe via OR 19141-0 at 270/15:23 UTC.б  ACS was later recovered to its nominal
Operate state via OR 19145-0 at 270/19:42 UTC.

The remaining SIs were returned to their nominal SMS boundary states for later
science intercept via OR 19144-0, which executed COP 9/17, Part C.б  NICMOS
recovery was skipped from this procedure, leaving it in the Safe state in which
it had been prior to the lock-up event.б  WFC3 recovery to Operate was
successfully completed at 270/17:08 UTC.б  COS was successfully recovered to
Operate with the NUV in its HVSAA state and the FUV in its HVLow state at
270/17:23 UTC.б  The OSM1, OSM2, and ApM mechanisms were all then homed to their
nominal SMS boundary states at 270/18:28 UTC.б  STIS was successfully recovered
to Operate at 270/18:41 UTC.б  Lastly, the ESM was successfully recovered to its
nominal Operate state, with the NCS CPL in Standby and the PCE enabled for added
telemetry visibility at 270/19:58 UTC.

OR 19142-0 was also successfully completed at 270/20:02 UTC, restoring NSSC-1
and 8051 on-board FSW limit patches to RAM that had been loaded on DOY 2011/257
which are not included in the permanent on-board images.

SI Key Monitors were disabled over this period to prevent any unnecessary Alerts
from being issued during Payload recovery.б  KMs were re-enabled at 270/20:30
UTC.

As a side note, one fringe benefit of the lock-up event today allowed for the
verification of the FSW modifications to the MEB reset actions taken by COS,
STIS, and WFC3 that were incorporated on-orbit over the past year.б  Three Fixed
mode dumps for these SIs analyzed by Payload FSW indicated that all expected
actions were indeed taken.

Another Flash Report will be distributed upon the successful intercept of the
NSSC-1 SMS that will return us to normal science operations, expected to occur
at approximately 271/ 10:00 UTC (6:00 am EDT).

Many thanks to all who supported the successful response and recovery following
our fifth lock-up event on-orbit.

Any questions or issues, please feel free to contact me.
