Subject: SCI: *FLASH* NSSC-1 SMS Intercept Complete

Following the recovery from the CU/SDF lock-up event of DOY 2011/270, the NSSC-1 intercept of the cold start SMS returning the Payload to nominal science operations has been successfully completed.

In preparation for this, the N02 NSSC-1 load and ATP setting were completed at 270/23:38 UTC via OR 19146-3, corresponding to an SMS intercept time of 271/10:10:56 UTC. The first NSSC-1 QBF load of the N03/B92 SPC load under nominal ACE control was then monitored after establishing the forward link at 271/00:37 UTC. The results of the SMS intercept were not immediately visible in RT telemetry, however, until AOS at 271/10:54 UTC, where successful intercept was verified.

Also completed in preparation for intercept was the setting of the NICMOS safing bit in the NSSC-1 via OR 19146-3 at 270/23:40 UTC. This will prevent incidental execution of the NICMOS safing sequence while NICMOS remains in Safe, ensuring the TECs are not re-enabled. OR 19147-1 was completed at 270/23:25 UTC, successfully disabling the SDF Input section as per our nominal configuration following the SDF power/thermal mitigation implementation.
