Recent JWST Science Highlights - Star Formation

The Atomic and Molecular Content of Disks around Very Low-mass Stars and Brown Dwarfs

Why JWST is important:- Infrared spectroscopy enables to study volatiles and organics in disks at radial distances where terrestrial and giant planets form. The superior sensitivity of JWST's instruments will allow to carry out such studies to the faint disks around M dwarfs down to brown dwarfs thus sampling the pre-planetary material around the most common stars in the Universe.
