Automation Cost Analysis of Rolling
Between NICMOS Coronagraphy Observations
in the Same Orbit
Abstract
There is scientific demand for being able to obtain NICMOS coronagraphic observations at two different roll angles within the same orbit, but doing so is presently very labor-intensive. The reasons for this are examined and some alternatives to automate the process are explored. A specific recommendation for a "two-visit" architecture is made.
