Are you wondering what a career in science or engineering would be like? You are not alone! The Youth for Astronomy and Engineering program wants to help you to meet other students with the same questions, as well as meet successful professionals with careers in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
At events sponsored by the Youth for Astronomy and Engineering program, you will be given opportunities to speak directly with scientists and engineers about what they do and how they made their decision to go into their respective fields. They will also be available to answer your questions about what to expect in your career field of interest, how best to prepare for college and/or a career, as well as other tips on building a fulfilling and interesting career in science or engineering. You will also get to take part in hands-on science activities. Depending on the activities planned for the event you attend, you may be building a simple electric motor, using a spectroscope just like an astronomer, analyzing water samples, or sailing a local tributary with only the stars to guide you!
