Maryland Science Center

The Maryland Science Center, once known as the Maryland Academy of Sciences, is Maryland's oldest scientific institution and one of the oldest such institutions in the entire nation. The Center has expanded and grown over time. A major expansion and renovation of the entire facility was completed in May of 2004. New exhibitions were added on all levels as well as the addition of a permanent hall showcasing dinosaurs and earth sciences, and a dedicated gallery for housing temporary exhibitions. Upgrades to the IMAX Theater introduced 3D film technology and improvements to the physical plant updated and enhanced visitor amenities and services. Today, as it has been in the past, the Maryland Science Center continues to focus on remaining a vital community resource and economic development engine now and in the future

Harford County Astronomical Society

The Harford County Astronomical Society, was founded in 1970 and is affiliated with the Astronomical League. The Society offers a wide range of activities for persons with an interest in astronomy.

Kennedy Krieger Institute

The Kennedy Krieger Institute Department of Special Education includes a number of programs that offer services to children with disabilities in a variety of school-based and recreational settings. Kennedy Krieger teachers offer special education and related services to students with a wide range of learning, emotional, physical, neurological and developmental disabilities. Special education services focus on the development of academic, social, emotional and behavioral skills through trans-disciplinary comprehensive instruction in an environment that recognizes and capitalizes on the individual strengths of each child.

The Kennedy Krieger Institute School programs, including its Career and Technology High School, have been nationally recognized by the US Department of Education for their excellence in providing special education services to students with disabilities ranging in severity from mild/moderate to severe/profound. In addition, Kennedy Krieger Institute has initiated a number of projects to provide access to science and technology to typically under-represented populations (such as women and youngsters with disabilities), two of which initiated through the Career and Technology Center, received Earmark Grants from the US Department of Education.

KKI teachers will participate in the hands-on workshops and assist the PI with the work of selecting or adapting activities to meet the needs of students who may have special learning or physical requirements and will assist the PI in the training and professional development activities for teachers that may be identified in this project.

Chesapeake Bay Foundation

The Chesapeake Bay Foundation (CBF) is the largest conservation organization dedicated solely to saving the Chesapeake Bay watershed. Our motto, Save the Bay, defines the organization's mission and commitment to reducing pollution, improving fisheries, and protecting and restoring natural resources such as wetlands, forests, and underwater grasses. CBF headquarters is in Annapolis, MD, and has state offices in Maryland, Virginia and Pennsylvania. CBF also operates 16 environmental education programs.
