In order to discover and determine some characteristics of extra-solar earth-like planets, J. R. P. Angel has defined several spacecraft experiments (labelled Oases 1 and 2). We have examined some aspects of these experiments and believe at least one, and possibly two, significant improvements could be made economically. The paper briefly discusses several features of redundant coronagraphs, and indicates one way that they might be incorporated into flight apparatus.
