Image quality for a point source is characterized in terms of encircled energy/intensity vs. radius.

Coronagraphic imaging with STIS reduces PSF wings by an order of magnitude several arcsec from the source.
The NUV-MAMA detector PSF has broader wings than the FUV-MAMA PSF because the NUV photocathode coating is on the dewar window instead of directly on the microchannel plate surface.
A new geometric-distortion solution for the NUV-MAMA has been obtained and a new geometric distortion table is in full use by the OTFR system.
First-order spectra of point sources contain weak satellite spectra of PSF Airy rings. Separation increases with wavelength.
