December 1998--Reference File Updates

Weekly DARKs continue

We are continuing with our deliveries of the weekly CCD darks. The last dark delivered is valid for the week of October 24-31, 1998.

FUV and NUV MAMA DARKs updated

We have delivered new MAMA DARKs, which supercedes those previously generated.

NUV - i9u1759io_drk.fits
FUV - i9u1743jo_drk.fits

Aperture Throughput (apt) updated

We have delivered updated aperture throughputs for the large, filtered apertures ( F25LYA,F25QTZ,F25CN182,F25CIII,F25MGII,F25SRF2,F25CN270 and F25ND3) based on in-orbit data.

Updates have been made to the filter throughput as a function of wavelength for the UV imaging modes. These are based on comparing in-flight spectroscopic measurements of stars taken with a slit to those taken with the filter. Several of the filters (F25SRF2, F25CN270, and F25MGII in particular) show significant (20-30 Angstrom) wavelength shifts relative to the ground-based calibration. An update to the filter throughput for F28X50LP is expected within the next month.

APT - ib51549co_apt.fits

Calibration Lamp Table (lmp) updated

We have delivered new calibration lamp templates, based on late ground-based observations (for the MAMAs) and inflight data (for the CCD).

LMP - i9u1550oo_lmp.fits

New Flat Field files delivered

We have delivered the first inflight low-order (lfl) flats for the FUV MAMA, and the first inflight spectroscopic (pfl) flats for the FUV and NUV MAMA.

The "PFLATS" correct the high-spatial frequency variation in the detector sensitivity. The previous NUV-MAMA flat was derived from ground testing and to date only a dummy (ones) flat existed for the FUV-MAMA. Significant differences at the few percent level are seen for the NUV flat from the ground flat.

The "LFLAT" is based on observations of the cluster NGC6881 and corrects for ~10% variations in sensitivity near the edges of the field.

LFL - iaf1723io_lfl.fits
PFL - NUV ibn18109o_pfl.fits
PFL - FUV ibn1813ro_pfl.fits

CCD Bias files

We have delivered updated biases for the CCD.
