one
to
measure
the

and
another
to

All
proposals
executed
successfully.
.
The
aperture

for
the

is
at

(242.9329,135.2735)
based
on
the
recent
astrometric
observations,

with
a

given
in
the

scheduled
to
be
reactivated
on
Day

This
reactivation
will
attempt
to

This
proposal
will
be
a

Throughput
Monitoring:
This
proposal
ran
on
day
1994.273.
Evaluation
of
PSF
quality
shows
that
we
have
experienced
a
significant
change
in
focus
since
this
test
was
last
run
on
day
222,
probably
due
to
desorption.We
have
a
DOB
movement
scheduled
for
the
297
SMS,
and
no
FOC
activities
(Calibration

Science)
between
now
and
then.
Data
from
the
past
2
weeks
will
be
examined
to
determine
the
DOB
correction
needed.
UV
throughput
appears
nominal.

SPACETELESCOPESCIENCEINSTITUTE FOC
DQE
Measurements

progress
report
Observations
of
spectrophotometric
standard
stars
have
been
used
to
verify/refine
the
FOC
DQE
calibration.
Due
mainly
to
the
aperture
size
used
for
flux
normalization
com
pared
to
preCOSTARmeasurements,
there
is
a
~20%
lower
throughput
in
the
far
UV,
with
a
roughly
linear
relation
between
the
expected
(i.e.
CDBS)
DQE
measurements
and
the
actual
values
measured
with
the
newer
normalization.
Tied
in
with
this
is
the
determination
of
the
actual
transmissions
of
the
ND
filters,
since
a
variety
of
such
filters
are
used
in
the
DQE
calibration.
Comparison
ofmeasurements
with
a
particular
ND
filter
with
those
without
do
not
show
any
significant
bias
due
to
ND
filter
transmissions
incorrectly
specified
in
the
CDBS,
although
other
independent
measure
ments
of
ND
transmission
do
appear
to
show
some
discrepancy.
This
situation
is
still
under
investigation.
