Purpose: Obtain data to create gain maps of the COS
FUV Detector before and after a change
to the high voltage level on either segment.
Description: Each time the nominal high voltage (HV) is
changed on either segment, deuterium lamp
exposures will be taken in order to measure
the gain over the part of the detector used
by the active Lifetime Position. An
identical visit will be executed after the
HV change. This data can be used to obtain
a definitive measurement of the gain at the
beginning and end of the time used by each
HV Level. The data will allow us to model
the lifetime of the detector as a function
of time and position.
Accuracy: 0.1
Comments on Accuracy: Value of the modal gain
Products: This data will be incorporated into the
regular CCI files in order to make initial
and final gain maps for each voltage level.
