If you see a message like "ftp.stsci.edu: unknown host", you will need
to use the numeric Internet address of ftp.stsci.edu. You should type
this number on the FTP command line in place of "ftp.stsci.edu". As
this is written, the number is 130.167.1.125, so you would have to type

% ftp 130.167.1.125

to start the FTP session.

This document requires only standard LaTeX style files, so you should be
able to process the summary as long as you have an up-to-date LaTeX,
version 2.09. The file is processed by typing:

% latex ltxcrib

The document is 14 pages long. When LaTeX has finished, you will have
a file called ltxcrib.dvi (device-independent file) in the current
working directory. This file must be operated on by a translator program
that is specific for your laser printer. You will have to check with
your systems administrator to see what this program might be.

For the popular PostScript printers, the program is probably called dvips,
and you should be able to process the .dvi file and send it to your
favorite PS printer by typing:

% dvips ltxcrib
