Troubleshooting


If you have trouble
logging into the system, this section provides some pointers that may help you find out why.

Login Problems

Nothing shows up on the terminal screen

The terminal is on, but you can't type anything

The terminal responds with garbage

If you get upside down question marks or other garbage, then check the line speed of the terminal. It should be set to either 9600 or 19200 baud. Terminal speed can be checked by pressing , then moving to the selection marked "Comm," and looking for the fields marked "Transmit=" and "Receive=". These fields should be set to 9600 or 19200. Reset the terminal. This is done by pressing and then moving the cursor to the selection marked "Reset," then press .

The terminal works, but you can't get into the system

"Service ... not known"

"Trying to connect to..."

"Session used" or "Cannot exceed session limit"
