V471 Tauri: Cycle 4 Medium)

The High Resolution Spectrograph (Side 2) was used to observe the
white dwarf in the eclipsing binary system, V471 Tau. The
observations were made when the target was at positions of greatest
elongations on the side of the companion star. The target's
velocity curve will be found from the strong Lyman Alpha absorption,
and will be used to calculate the mass. There was one reported
carrousel reset event at 296/1301Z. There was enough time delay that
one observation did not execute.

1.4 Completed FGS 5657 (Duplicity Among Hyades Stars: Cycle 4 High)

The FGSs (TRANS-Mode) were used to make astrometric observations of
stars VA282, VA366, VA351 and VA502 located in the Hyades cluster in
an attempt to find a close binary. The observations were executed as
scheduled, and no anomalies were noted.

1.5 Completed Two Sets of WF/PC-2 5655 (WF/PC-2 Cycle 4 Calibration:
Internal Monitor. 2: Flats Part 2)

The WF/PC-2 was used to make both ultraviolet and visual flats. The
observations were completed as planned, and no problems were
reported.

1.6 Completed Two Sets of WF/PC-2 5479 (Subarcsecond Structure in Nearby
AGNs)

The WF/PC-2 was used to make snapshot observations of the nearby
active galactic nuclei of MARK937, MARK279, 1034+06 to study the
interactions between the central engine, the stars, and the
interstellar matter in their AGNs. The observations were executed as
scheduled, and no anomalies were noted.

1.7 Completed GHRS/2 5600 (GHRS Side 2 Wavelength Monitor (1st Order
Gratings): Cycle 4)

The High Resolution Spectrograph (Side Two) was used to make
wavelength and resolution calibration observations of its first
order gratings using the internal calibration lamp. The observations
were completed as planned and no anomalies were noted.

1.8 Completed WF/PC-2 5560 (WF/PC-2 Cycle 4 Calibration: Internal
Monitor. 1)

The WF/PC-2 was used to make several internal bias, K-Spot, and flat
calibration observations to monitor the CCD camera electronics, the
optical alignment, and to check for contamination. The observations
were completed as planned, and no anomalies were noted.

1.9 Completed GHRS/1 5594 (GHRS Side 1 Sensitivity Monitor: Cycle 4)

The High Resolution Spectrograph (Side One) was used to make
calibration observations of star BD28D4211 to monitor the long-term
sensitivity of the system. The observations were completed as
planned, and no anomalies were reported.

1.10 Completed GHRS/2 5599 (GHRS Side 2 Sensitivity Monitor: Cycle 4)

The High Resolution Spectrograph was used to make some long term
sensitivity monitorings by making observations of standard star
BD+28D4211. The observations were executed as scheduled, and no
anomalies were noted.

1.11 Completed WF/PC-2 5401 (Luminosities and Morphologies of a Complete
3CR Sample of Radio Galaxies)

The WF/PC-2 was used to obtain images of radio galaxy 3C237, which
has a Z near 1.0, and also is a quasar. These observations will be
used to determine and compare luminosities, and morphologies in the
optical and infrared. The observations were executed as scheduled,
and no anomalies were noted.

1.12 Completed Two Sets of FOS/RD 5452 (Composition of Dark Material in
Iapetus: cycle 4 Medium)

The Faint Object Spectrograph (Red Side) was used to make
observations of Saturn's moon Iapetus, which has a bright hemisphere
and a dark hemisphere. Ultraviolet spectra of both hemispheres were
taken. Spectra of Saturn's moon Rhea was also taken for comparison.
The observations were completed as scheduled, and no anomalies were
noted.

1.13 Completed WF/PC-2 5233 (Stellar Populations and Clusters in
Elliptical Galaxies (WC08))

The WF/PC-2 was used to make deep observations of elliptical galaxy
NGC-221 to study its stellar population. There was one reported
recentering event which lasted for a total of five seconds. No other
anomalies were noted.

1.14 Completed WF/PC-2 5505 (Deep Probes of Gravitational Lens Systems)

The WF/PC-2 was used to make deep images of of the elliptical galaxy
BRI0952-01 which is a member of the Coma Cluster. The intent is to
improve our understanding of the stellar populations in ellipticals
and to determine the distance to the Coma Cluster. The observations
were completed and planned, and no problems were noted.

1.15 Completed GHRS/2 5671 (GHRS Dark Noise Monitor: Cycle 4)

as scheduled, and no anomalies were noted.

1.16 Completed WF/PC-2 5415 (The Distance to M-96 Galaxy Group: Cycle 4
Medium)

The WF/PC-2 was used to make observations of Cepheid variable stars
within the galaxy NGC-3368 which itself is located in the M-96
galaxy cluster. This is to help determine the distance to this
galactic group, and to improve the determination of the Hubble
constant. The observations were completed as planned, and no
anomalies were reported.

1.17 Completed FOS/RD 5664 (Quasar Absorption Line Survey: Cycle 4 High)

The Faint Object Spectrograph (Red Side) was used to make
spectrographic observations of quasi-stellar object B31123+395 to
look for absorption lines due to gas in the intergalactic medium and
galactic halos. The observations were executed as scheduled, and no
anomalies were noted.

1.18 Completed WF/PC-2 5353 (Low-Mass Binaries in the Hyades: Cycle 4
High)

The WF/PC-2 was used to make images of the low-mass, late M-Class
dwarf star RHY047 which is located in the Hyades cluster. Some of
