1.0 ACTIVITIES SCHEDULED AND ACCOMPLISHED:

1.1 Uplinked Updated Ephemeris Tables, Per Moses 2871

1.2 Completed HSP/POL 4888 (Remnant Stars in Supernova Remnants)

The High Speed Photometer was used to make a series of observations
of a unusual remnant star SS433 from a supernova which has emission
lines that vary in velocity by a relativistic amount in a 162 day
cycle. All of the observations were reported to be satisfactory.

1.3 Completed WFC 4770 (WF/PC Cycle 2 Calibration: Internal Monitor
Proposal)

The Wide Field Camera was used to make routine calibration bias,
internal flat, and dark images. The dark images were reported to
look okay, the internal flat images has saturated in the corners,
and the bias observations were normal.

1.4 Completed PC 3603 (Snapshots of Protoplanetary Nebulae)

The Planetary Camera was used to make one snapshot image the the
protoplanetary system W-Aquilai to study its current morphology. The
observations was received and displayed in the OSS. It was reported
to look okay.

1.5 Completed PC & FOC/96 5009 (ST Focus Investigation)

Both the Planetary Camera and the Faint Object Camera were used to
make a large number of images of several stars to determine how the
focus changes with orbital phase. All observations went very well. A
SIP corrective maneuver was successfully uplinked to center the
target in the aperture for one of the observations. (See Notes 1.6
and 2.4).

1.6 Completed FGS 5011 (Astrometry for ST Focus Investigation)

The Fine Guidance Sensors were used to make astrometric observations
to support the "breathing test". The astrometric observations were
monitored in the OSS. No problems were seen. (See Notes 1.5 and
2.4).

1.7 Completed FOS/BL 4054 (Probing the Nuclear Regions of Seyfert Galaxy
NGC-5548)

The Faint Object Spectrograph was used to make one observations of
the nuclear regions of Seyfert galaxy NGC-5548 looking for time
variability in its continuum fluxes, and emissions in Helium II and
Carbon IV. The observations was monitored in the OSS. The spectrum
was reported to look fine, with reasonable counts.

1.8 Completed WFC 4381 (HST Medium - deep Survey - Cycle 3)

The Wide Field Camera was used to make high latitude medium - deep
sky survey observations taken in parallel with the prime science
observations. The observations were monitored in the OSS, and the
data quality was assessed. No problems were reported.

1.9 Completed PC 4712 (WF/PC Cycle 2 Calibration: Measles Monitor)

The Planetary Camera was used to make Earth flat images using filter
F517N, both with and without filter F122M. This is to monitor the
appearance and number of measles (i.e., a form of contamination).
The observations were executed as scheduled, and no problems were
reported.

1.10 Completed WFC/PC 4109 (WF/PC cycle 2 Calibration: Rapid Internal
Monitor)

Both the Planetary Camera and the Wide Field Camera were used with
filter F555W to make internal flat observations to check for new
forms of contamination (i.e., daisies and measles), and the return
of quantum efficiency hysteresis. The OSS conducted routine
monitoring. No problems were reported.

1.11 Completed FOS BL 3616 (The Upper Atmosphere of Uranus and Neptune)

The Faint Object Spectrograph was used to make far ultraviolet
spectral observations of the upper atmosphere of Neptune to look for
molecular hydrogen emissions. An onboard target acquisition was
successfully performed on Neptune's moon Trition, and the telescope
was offset to the planet. The OSS monitored the observations, and no
problems were reported.

1.12 Completed WFC 4929 (WF/PC Cycle 2: Improved Dark Calibration)

The Wide Field Camera was used to make one 1200 second long internal
dark exposure. The camera was preflashed before the exposure. No
problems were reported.

2.4 Operations Note:

The Breathing Test was executed on the spacecraft on May 25-26.
Preliminary indicators are that the test proceeded as planned. There
were sessions of two data takes each. Each session included guide
star acquisitions using fine lock, followed by parallel data takes
involving FGS #2 as the astrometry FGS, and images from the FOC and
WF/PC. Data analysis is now under way. (See Notes 1.5 and 1.6)
